Wayne Mackie
NFL Head Linesman

Wayne has just completed his third season as a Head Linesman in the National Football League (NFL).  He has been assigned to a Divisional playoff game in the 2008-2009 season and to the Pro Bowl in 2009-2010 season.


Prior to being selected to the NFL, Wayne’s professional football officiating career also included NFL Europe (2004-2006), the Arena Football League (2005-2007), the Arena2 Football League (2002-2004) and the Indoor Professional Football League (2001).  Among the many playoff games he received, Wayne was assigned to NFL Europe’s World Bowl XIII in 2005 and to the Arena Cup (AF2 Championship Game) in 2003. 


Wayne started his college officiating career on the supplemental staff of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) in 1996. That same year he also began officiating in the ECFOA for Milt Halstead where he worked a Division II playoff game in 1997.  In 1998, Wayne became a full-time member of the MEAC football officiating staff where he was assigned several NCAA Division 1-AA playoff games.  In 2000, Wayne was selected to the Atlantic 10 (now known as the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) and in 2002, he became a member of the Big East Conference officiating staff.  While in the Big East, Wayne was assigned to several bowl games that included the Peach Bowl, Music City Bowl, EV1.Net Houston Bowl and the New Orleans Bowl.
